Shari Rozansky with Tao Porchon-Lynch

Extraordinary people change the way we see the world and ourselves. This past Tuesday I met an exceptional woman.

Tao Porchon-Lynch is 99 years young and is more than just a yoga teacher. This unique woman is so charismatic and teaches discipline and control of the body through yoga.  Not only is she inspiring to listen to and look at, but she really wanted to send a message to all of us who gathered at the Cummings Centre.

Tao’s Message

Her mantra is “there is nothing that you cannot do” and  “nothing is impossible!” She is definitely proof of that.

Tao encouraged us to say to ourselves when we wake up that “This is going to be the best day of my life.” And it will be. Believe in it. Positive energy goes a long way and it’s certainly something that I practice.

Tao does, and I truly believe that this 99 year young woman, who can run circles around me, knows what she’s talking about! Her positive energy is contagious and it got me thinking about my morning rituals that help me become energetic and full of life as Tao is.

6 Things That I Do to Start My Day

  • I try to wake up wide eyed before my alarm clock rings!
  • Coffee is always #1!
  • Go to a 6:30 a.m. hot yoga class
  • Enjoy a healthy breakfast when I get home
  • Do the Sudoku puzzle that’s in my local paper and then read the comic strips!
  • Shower and have a 2nd cup of coffee!

It’s amazing how the power of suggestion can influence your day. Smile when you wake up. Get into a wonderful ritual that will help shape your day and watch how you and your day will become a whole lot brighter.

I’d love to know what you do to start your day!
