Wouldn’t it be great if you came home and you had a tray of cut veggies or a fruit salad waiting for you? And if it were there, would you be more inclined to choose a healthier snack as opposed to some chips or a handful of chocolate chips? I have nothing against chips or chocolate chips, but if you have that for a snack when you’re hungry, one handful isn’t going to do it.

I know – we’re all busy and no one likes to be stuck in the kitchen but it wouldn’t take you hours to prepare – I promise!!! Peel your carrots, then cut them into sticks and put them in a container. That stalk of celery that you can’t believe how much it cost, well, if you don’t wash it and cut it, it’s going to end up in the compost and you wasted your money! Wash some peppers, slice off the tops, cut in half and clean out the seeds – done. Wash your baby tomatoes and put them in a nice bowl on your kitchen counter. WOW – that wasn’t even 1/2 hour and you’re done!!!

Keep a container of hummus, salsa or guacamole in your fridge and then you’re cooking:) Need a snack for work or school? Take out a container/baggie and fill it up with your already prepped veggies and use an itty bitty container for your dip.

Looking for a snack after supper? Your fruit salad is already made! Or have it for lunch with cottage cheese, or add it to your yogurt and sprinkle some walnuts on top. So many possibilities and all because of YOU!

That’s right, it all starts with YOU making a PLAN and carrying it out. Do it often enough and it will become a new habit, your habit.  And look at you who doesn’t want to be stuck in the kitchen:)
