Our dinner table is always set family style – most nights there’s a large plate of chicken, salmon, a quinoa salad, a bowl of rice or roasted potatoes and always a huge bowl of salad. Try and imagine the plates being passed around at my house and everyone is helping themselves and there’s a lot of chitter chatter going on.

The roasted potatoes ended up back in front of me and they looked so yummy so I picked up the bowl and put a little more on my plate. The thing is, I did have a helping before, but I wasn’t sure how much and I figured that a little bit more won’t hurt me. At least that’s what I told myself, but the truth is, I had more than I needed! Has this ever happened to you?
A little bit more here and a little bit more there can lead to a little bit more on my hips… I know you get it lol!
Now imagine another scenario –  one where the serving spoons are colorful and are 1/2 cup and 1 cup sizes. It would certainly make it easier to stick to one portion and help to keep to a healthy plan. I love this idea because it’s easy to manage portion control and it helps keep me on track without feeling like I’m missing out. It’s that little reminder that I need.
As always, I’d love to hear from you! Do you use any special serving pieces that help you keep on track during meal time?
