It’s time to declutter!
It’s so easy to get distracted and busy with other things when there’s something that needs to be re-organized. I am the Queen of procrastination! Sometimes all it takes is an email from a store that’s having an ‘amazing, lowest price, best day ever sale!’ and I’m there. And before I know it, I’ve been surfing the net for more time than I’d like to admit, and nothing that I wanted to do, has been done. Has that ever happened to you?
Now I put a plan in place where I write a list on a piece of paper. A visual is important because anything written on your phone or another electronic device can lead to more distractions, you know what I mean. So, I hand write a list of about 5 or 6 things that I should or need to do for that day. I’ll include something that I always do on a regular basis, like laundry, plus work stuff and chores that I’ve been avoiding like organizing a cluttered kitchen drawer or organizing the pantry shelves that are in my laundry room. I find writing it out helps me to stay focused and I feel so good after I’ve crossed out a few things from my list.
Not only is it therapeutic for the soul and keeps me busy so I don’t ‘mindlessly eat’, but there’s a real sense of achievement once you see what you’ve accomplished.
