Have you ever bought a prepackaged 5 pound bag of apples only to come home and see that many are ‘blemished’? Don’t tell me that you threw them out!!! I know that’s the first instinct, but what if you made something with them?

I know – you’re thinking apple pie, that was my first inclination too! But I’m thinking more along the lines of healthier ideas and ways to change up what you’re eating. Have you ever made baked apples or applesauce? I’m not at liberty to divulge my mom’s secret recipe for her applesauce, but I can tell you how easy and no fuss it is to make baked apples.

Wash and core the apples and then place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. I use my toaster oven that’s set at 350° and bake the apples for about 40 minutes. That’s it!

So many ways to use it too! I love it in my oatmeal or cut up in yogurt with a little cinnamon and walnuts sprinkled on top.

As always I’d love to hear from you!
